In my quest to write more in this thing, I've sought out journal prompts. A fun one that caught my eye was "Five odd things you like" so after some thought, here are five odd things I like.
• The Number 19
The why of this one is easy. It's the day of the month my birthday is on. It's one of the two odd numbers that aren't multiples of 5 that I will arse with (the other being 13), and the first one I'll seek out in a list without other criteria.
• Brussels Sprouts
These were the ultimate in gross vegetables growing up according to pop culture. I've discovered I personally love them roasted with a bit of butter, salt, and lemon pepper.
• Pit bulls
I don't consider this odd, but some people might. Pibbles, land seals, house hippos, velvet hippos... whatever you call them, they're sweet cuddlebugs who super-glue themselves to their people. They're gentle, silly, and all-around adorable.
• Peppermint and cinnamon
Not odd to me, but is among the things that some people can have a strong dislike toward. I don't like them together, mind you, but I do like them both to the point that if there's something with one of them in it, like mexican hot chocolate or candy cane ice cream, or most especially peppermint mocha creamer, I want it available year round, nammit! Don't confine me to seasons!
• Puns
I adore puns. The "worse" they are, the better. If you can make me groan and sigh, you've done good. I like words and playing with them. Multilingual puns are seriously awesome. But puns means you've put some thought into the words you're using and have a sense of the absurd. No one can take themselves too seriously if they use a lot of puns.
